The Minneapolis Area Realtors® Foundation is providing $40,000 to 11 local non-profit organizations that provide housing and housing-related services to low-income families and individuals. It is the 32nd year the Foundation has distributed funds in support of its mission to help end homelessness in Carver, Hennepin, McLeod, Scott and Sibley Counties.
“These organizations are working hard to provide vital services to those in need every day,” said Cari Linn, Chair of the MAR Foundation Board of Trustees. “The MAR Foundation is grateful to provide this much-needed support as we work toward the goal of ensuring everyone has a place to call home.”
The following organizations were awarded funding:
- Angel Foundation
- Cornerstone
- Greater Minneapolis Crisis Nursery
- Jeremiah Program
- Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans
- Project for Pride in Living
- Stephen’s Human Services
- The Arc Greater Twin Cities
- The Bridge for Youth
- The Link
- Tubman
The grants, which are being distributed as part of the MAR Foundation’s annual grant program, are in addition to $40,000 in COVID-19 relief grants the Foundation provided to eight non-profits this spring, bringing the grant total distributed this year to $80,000.
“This year has been especially difficult for non-profits that provide housing relief and for the people who depend on them for help,” Linn said. “The MAR Foundation is grateful to the REALTORS® whose donations make these gifts possible.”
The MAR Foundation has provided more than $1 million in grants for housing needs since 1988. Funded by donations from its REALTOR® members, the Foundation dedicates all money raised to its mission of helping local organizations in their work to end homelessness in our communities.
