What made you want to become a Realtor®, or get involved in the industry?
I felt after about 15 years in Real Estate that I wanted to get more involved. I thought I would try being on a committee and realized how much knowledge I gained being part of that. Gov’t Affairs was the committee. You really learn how much of a difference a person can make by being involved and it made me a better Realtor® for my clients.

Helping people move on to their next chapter. Many times it is a celebration, other times it might be a relief when going through a tough time, but knowing I helped them is very rewarding.

What’s something an outsider wouldn’t know about the real estate industry?
The 3 am pop-up. We take pride in how we help people and we know the importance of what we do, which means we also can get nervous about missing something. To wake up in the middle of the night with your mind racing because you just wondered if you missed a box that could be important in your sale. It is rare that something is missed but we always want to make sure we aren’t missing something that could negatively affect our clients.
How do you give back to your community?
I do give back in a number of ways including a portion of every commission to the Children’s Miracle Network, but what I’m known for is Toys for Tots. I have a party every year, we just had our 38th Annual, and we have donated from the party over 12,000 toys.
What are your hobbies, and how did you get into them?
I’m a long suffering Minnesota sports fan who always hopes this will be our year. I was the 8 year old kid that had the starting lineup on the Twins memorizes along with their current batting average.
Are you more of an extrovert of an introvert?
People can change. I really would say for most of my life I was a little more introverted, people now might have a hard time believing that. I have definitely become more extroverted.
What’s one thing that can instantly make your day better?
The smiles on my Grandkids’ faces when they come over to visit Grandma and Grandpa.
How do you take your coffee?
Black and several cups of it.
