April 1, 2022 was the go-live date for the City of Bloomington’s new Time of Sale Energy Disclosure ordinance, as well as Bloomington’s Time of Sale program changes. Below are a few items regarding existing inspections scheduled and the process moving forward.
For those of you who have Time of Sale inspections that were scheduled prior to April 1st :
- If the inspection is taking place between April 1st and April 14th your independent evaluator may still complete the inspection. The inspectors do not need to include energy disclosure in the inspection as the ordinance does not affect inspections scheduled prior to April 1st.
- If you have inspections scheduled after April 14th, correspondence was sent out to all of the currently licensed TOS evaluators and they will need to contact Duke or Bernadette to discuss this and have approval to complete these inspections.
New scheduling process on/after April 1st:
Once you need to schedule an inspection for the Time of Sale, you will need to contact the City of Bloomington office at 952-563-8930. At that time, they will try and accommodate your request and have a City inspector scheduled. If they are unable to accommodate your requested date and time, then they will refer you to a list of our Certified Inspectors that are contracted with the City. Payment of $250 is due at the time of scheduling.
