Issue Alert: REALTORS® Concerned about Bloomington Time of Sale Changes
The city of Bloomington has proposed an ordinance to bring the Time of Sale Evaluators process “In-House” utilizing city only inspectors instead of independent evaluators, as it does currently. As you know, Bloomington is the 3rd largest city in the state and REALTORS® list more than 1,500 properties on the market every year. REALTORS® are concerned about:
1) Lengthened wait times between Time of Sale being ordered an inspection being completed.
2) Increased costs
3) No weekend inspections
4) Lack of Lockbox Available Access
5) Transaction delays
Bloomington City Staff are hosting two listening sessions. These sessions are being held in response to our vocal concerns to bring their home inspection process in-house and our successful efforts to delay passage of this ordinance last Monday at city council. Although this topic has once again been given to the public on short notice, MAR Government Affairs and the GA Committee are ready to have our voices heard.

My name is [Name] I have worked in Bloomington for [X] years. I am a REALTORS® and I am concerned about the proposed changes to the Time of Sale program. My clients are Bloomington residents and the deserve better than lengthened inspection times, decreased service, and delayed transactions. REALTORS® suggest leaving the Time of Sale Evaluators program unchanged. It is already very well serviced by Independent Evaluators.
