The Weekly Pulse | 9-8-26

Good morning Realtors®! Let’s dive into the latest housing market activity. In addition to our regular weekly report, these weekly and monthly charts go beyond some of the higher-level trends. Here’s what the latest data are telling us:

  1. Last week, showing activity was down 20.8% compared to a year ago. This is largely due to the timing of Labor Day weekend.
  2. Since all price categories declined in showings since last year, the smallest year-over-year decrease in showing activity took place for homes priced $600-800K, down 5.3%. Showings of homes priced between $300-400K were down 25.6% year-over-year.
  3. Homes priced between $300-400K still make up the largest share of showings (25.7%). Listings over $1M represented 3.3% of all showings.
  4. Mortgage rates averaged at 6.9% across the United States by the end of last week.
