Minnesota Realtors® (MNR) Board of Directors
Minnesota Realtors® (MNR) is a member-driven association. As a appointed director at the State level, you will be providing direction and leadership for the association and serving as a MAR Ambassador. We’re seeking Realtor® members who are committed to representing MAR at the state level and advancing the interests of the real estate profession.
Responsibilities, Qualifications & Commitments
Roles & Responsibilities
- Attend approximately six MAR Board meetings annually; limited in-state travel may be required.
- Share updates and information from Board meetings with your local association and colleagues.
- Serve as an ambassador for MAR by promoting association programs, events, tools, and member benefits.
- Actively support and participate in local and state association activities throughout the year.
Qualifications
- Be a Realtor® member in good standing.
- Have previous board or committee experience within MAR, a local association, or comparable governance experience (strongly encouraged).
- Demonstrate a commitment to serving the best interests of Minnesota Realtors®.
- Are effective communicators who can represent MAR professionally within the real estate community.
- Have an interest in association leadership, governance, and member engagement.
- Are collaborative, dependable, and committed to actively participating throughout their term.
Time Commitment
Approximately six Board meetings per year (about two hours each), with limited in-state travel.
National Association of Realtors® (NAR) Board of Directors
The National Association of Realtors® is a member-driven association. Members of the NAR Board of Directors have duties and responsibilities for governing the association, and the association counts on directors to participate as we deliberate issues that impact our members’ daily business lives. We’re seeking Realtor® members who are committed to representing MAR at the national level and advancing the interests of the real estate profession.
Qualifications, Required Training & Commitments
Qualifications
- Are a Realtor® member in good standing.
- Bring prior leadership experience—such as Board service, Past President roles, or comparable governance experience (strongly encouraged)
- Have familiarity with MAR, the Realtor® association structure, and core governance principles
- Think strategically and are committed to serving the best interests of Minnesota Realtors®.
- Communicate effectively and serve as strong ambassadors for the association
- Can commit the time required to actively participate in MAR and NAR meetings, events, and leadership activities.
Required Training
Complete all required Fair Housing training prior to appointment, including At Home With Diversity, Bias Override, and Fairhaven Simulation
Time Commitment
Regular meeting attendance is essential. Meetings held at the Realtor® Legislative Meetings in Washington, D.C. and at the NAR Annual Convention (location changes each year).
