Each board member was hand-selected for their dedication, unique perspective, and deep commitment to the future of our members and the real estate industry. With over 100 years of combined experience, they don’t just govern – they inspire.

Many of these individuals didn’t always start as Realtors^® – they’ve thrived in various careers, building expertise in business, raising families, working in finance, education, and beyond. They apply that broad knowledge and vision to champion the goals of the association, ensuring that we continue to promote financial success, uphold private property rights, and strengthen our communities.

Director Responsibilities

Ensure your voice is heard in the future of Minneapolis Area Realtors^®!

As a member of MAR, you have the opportunity to impact the growth of the real estate industry and community at large. Want to ensure your stance on Realtor^® and industry priorities are reflected at the leadership level? Run to serve!

Qualifications: Must be a MAR Realtor^® member in good standing for a minimum of two years.

Director Responsibilities:

Set the vision and long-term strategies for the Association
Represent the membership and act in their best interest
Serve as an ambassador of the Association to promote MAR’s mission, programs and services
Raise awareness for Realtor^® interests in local, state, and national advocacy, and support sustainable, vibrant communities through philanthropy
Attend MAR board meetings (6-8 per year) and Association events

MAR requires all Board of Directors to complete At Home with Diversity, Bias Override: Overcoming Barriers to Fair Housing class, and Fairhaven as a performance expectation prior to your appointment.
