RPAC is the Political branch of the Minnesota Association of REALTORS® (MNAR). MNAR is the state's largest trade association. It represents over 15,000 REALTOR® members and is one of the five largest political action committees in Minnesota. Of the state's largest political action committees, RPAC is the only one to be recognized as bipartisan.

RPAC works for REALTORS®. We support candidates dedicated to preserving and promoting homeownership and private property rights and to building a strong economy driven by good jobs. Contributions from LLCs (on LLC checks or using an LLC credit card) are not acceptable by MN-RPAC and will be allocated 100% to National RPAC. Contributions are not deductible for income tax purposes. Contributions to RPAC are voluntary and are used for political purposes. You may contribute more or less than the suggested amount. You may refuse to contribute without reprisal, and the National Association of REALTORS® or any of its state associations or local associations will not favor or disfavor any member because of the amount contributed. Of each contribution, 70% is used by your state PAC to support state and local political candidates. Until your state PAC reaches its RPAC goal, 30% is sent to National RPAC to support federal candidates and is charged against your limits under 2 U.S.C. 441a. After the state PRAC reaches its RPAC goal it may elect to retain your entire contribution for use in supporting state and local candidates.

Real Estate Issues Addressed by RPAC

Local/Regional: Issues include time of sale housing inspection ordinances and placement of temporary off-site real estate signs. Regional issues important to REALTORS® include growth, housing opportunities and transportation.

State: The Minnesota Association of REALTORS (MNAR) develops and lobbies state-wide real estate issues. Examples are state taxes, state budget and spending, real estate licensing, agency, disclosure, Commerce Department regulations, and environmental concerns. There are many more.

National: The National Association of REALTORS® current real estate issues include keeping banks out of the real estate business, permitting associations to sponsor member health insurance plans, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac regulatory reform, FHA modernization, Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA) reform, do not call regulations, HUD  and federal tax issues.
