At the end of each calendar year, MAAR honors several REALTOR® members with awards at our annual banquet ceremony and holiday party. We choose a REALTOR® of the Year, give out our Exceptional Service Award, choose several worthy recipients for our Community Involvement Awards, and occasionally include a Presidents Award for distinguished service to the association that beckons recognition beyond what can fit into our traditional categories.
The REALTOR® of the Year award is given to a member who has exhibited great leadership in the profession and is actively involved in making important industry decisions on behalf of MAAR. Participation in the state and national associations is beneficial for qualifying, as is community and civic involvement.

The Exceptional Service Award program was developed to show recognition to a MAAR member that has given prominent contributions both within and outside of the REALTOR® profession. In 2007, Julie Olson was instrumental in developing our monthly Broker Support series. She organized the meetings, made arrangements for speakers and helped evolve an occasional informal conversation into an organized networking event that has fast become one of the association's most popular offerings.

The Presidents Award is not given out on an annual basis; rather, it is awarded to an outstanding MAAR member who deserves to be recognized for dedication to the association above and beyond elected capacity.
