To fulfill your new member obligation and become a REALTOR®, attend a new member orientation class and complete Ethics training within 90 days of submitting the application.
Orientation Training
Upon registration you will be scheduled to attend MAAR's Orientation program, "Making REALTOR® Connections." This one-day course introduces you to many REALTOR® resources and offers 2 education credits upon completion. (You will receive 2.5 credits upon completing the Ethics training course).
Why attend?
To meet MAAR staff and introduce new members to the role of MAAR as a business partner in your work.
To make REALTOR® Connections and lead REALTORS® to the many services, benefits, responsibilities, tools and resources that will help you become successful in your work, to understand your role as a new member of the association and to complete new membership requirements.
Who attends?
All new REALTOR® applicants of the Minneapolis Area Association of REALTORS®.
All existing members who wish to be better informed regarding association benefits and services.
Transferring members who have not completed the orientation and Code of Ethics requirements.

Where is orientation?
Orientations are held several times each month in the large conference room at MAAR, 5750 Lincoln Drive, Minneapolis, MN 55436

9:00 a.m. - noon
noon - 12:30 p.m. Lunch is served to those staying for Instructor-led Ethics
Section 2
Instructor-led Ethics
12:30 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Avoid a $25 rescheduling fee!
New members are asked to cancel and reschedule their Orientation date if they cannot attend. If you opt for online COE training, and have not completed it prior to orientation, you must reschedule or attend the ethics class that immediately follows orientation.
Cancellations are accepted up until 9:00a.m. on Orientation day. A $25.00 rescheduling fee will be charged each time a member fails to show or cancel for their Orientation program as scheduled. The fee must be paid in order to re-schedule another date.
All membership services are terminated for new members who fail to complete their Code of Ethics training and Orientation program within 90 days of registration.
Code of Ethics
The cornerstone of association membership is the training and commitment to the REALTOR® Code of Ethics, as required by NAR. Discover your ethical duties to clients and customers, the public and REALTORS®, and fulfill REALTOR® Code of Ethics requirement.
You have the option of online or instructor-led Ethics training. Instructor-led training immediately follows New Member Orientation. If you choose the online option, you need to complete the course at least 5 days prior to attending Orientation.
You will receive 2.5 education credits for your completed COE training.
