What is RPAC?
RPAC is the political branch of the Minnesota Association of REALTORS® (MNAR) and is one of the five largest political action committees in Minnesota. Of the state’s largest political action committees, RPAC is the only one to be recognized as bipartisan. RPAC works for REALTORS®. We support local, state and federal candidates dedicated to preserving and promoting homeownership and private property rights and to building a strong economy driven by good jobs. We believe these principles cross party lines and benefit not only REALTORS® but all Minnesotans. We hope you agree. And we hope you join us by investing in RPAC and your business! LEARN MORE

Contributions to RPAC are voluntary and are used for political purposes. Contributions from LLCs (on LLC checks or using an LLC
credit card) are not acceptable by MN-RPAC and will be allocated 100% to National RPAC. Contributions are not deductible for
income tax purposes. You may contribute more or less than the suggested amount. You may refuse to contribute without reprisal,
and the National Association of REALTORS® or any of its state associations or local associations will not favor or disfavor any
member because of the amount contributed. Of each contribution, 70% is used by your state PAC to support state and local political
candidates. Until your state PAC reaches its RPAC goal, 30% is sent to National RPAC to support federal candidates and is
charged against your limits under 2 U.S.C. 441a. After the state PAC reaches its RPAC goal it may elect to retain your entire
contribution for use in supporting state and local candidates.
For further information concerning MN-RPAC contributions, please contact Christine Berger at cberger@mnrealtor.com.

What is the NAR Public Awareness Campaign?
NAR has an integrated approach to consumer communications, involving earned, owned, and paid media. We earn media through our media outreach; own media through our direct-to-consumer outreach channels (HouseLogic and Real Estate Today); and pay for media through the Public Advocacy Campaign. The national advertising NAR delivers through the Public Advocacy Campaign ensures that consumers and policymakers hear and see convincing, unfiltered information about the importance of real estate issues to the economy and all Americans. Why did my annual dues increase?
Membership enrollment has decreased significantly the past six years. During this time, MAAR has taken every possible step to decrease expenses as to avoid increasing dues in the midst of a challenging real estate market. For some of those years, this has resulted in MAAR operating at a loss. Rather than undertake further cuts that would put member value at risk, the Board of Directors determined an increase of $20 in MAAR membership dues was necessary.

Is there a dues assistance program?
MAAR does not have a dues assistance program. However, Royal Credit Union (RCU), a MAAR affiliate member, is offering a short-term loan program to help with 2013 association dues. Offer ends January 31, 2013. LEARN MORE | APPLY ONLINE
